Not “Cool" Anymore

As I visited my twitter page just to check what’s new, I bumped into a tweet tread of #CUEAchics on nude photos. Nudity photography is becoming a normal thing in Kenya. Just recently Muliro Gardens was the talk of town. However the so called “models” in Kenya are messing up the art of this kind of photography.

Nudity photography goes back all the way to 1849. Back then the photos were referred to as "cheesecake” photos or simple nude photos. Felix - Jacques Moulin was the first photographer to sell nude photos especially daguerreotypes of teenage nude girls. Nude photography is a style of art photography which depicts the nude human body as a study. It should be distinguished from glamour photography, which places more emphasis on the model and her/his sexuality, and treats the model as the primary subject. It should also be distinguished from erotic photography, which has a sexually suggestive component. Nude photography is also distinguished from pornographic photography, which is of a sexually explicit nature.

Here in Kenya our so called “models” are destroying the art. Most of the nude photos the “models” are dressed in bad lingerie and the poses can’t even be described. An example is the nude photos that have been a talk on Twitter. The models have no posture, underwear is not good and cellulites all over. These pictures were very disturbing not because they were gross (haven’t seen the others) but because the “models” and photographer didn’t do justice to them.

Honestly speaking if one is going to participate in such a session, take your time to wear good lingerie because you don’t know where those photos will link. One of the chic’s lingerie wasn’t matching and she posed with ugly heels. Nkt!!!

I don’t know what these chics were thinking when taking these photos. Can’t say their future has come to an end but rather it has just started. It may seem so bad right now but many people have gone through the same thing and have come out of it strongly. Life has to continue.

My only question is; What goes through people heads while doing this? You wake up and say its nudity photos session???

Advice to our to be “models” when you decide you want to take nude photos, whether for fun or public viewing... Make sure you’re prepared. Shop for a really good lingerie, get your hair & nails done and Google for really good posing style. Because when those photos leak to the public, make sure you’ve done justice to them. Ladies should look at them and go I want her lingerie and as for the gents they should enjoy them...Lol!!!! The content should be worth it! You’ll be reaping the rewards but if you give the public a pathetic show, people will be wondering what the hell were you thinking.

A fact is that many people around us are doing it. It could be your relative, neighbour or friend but its being done. It’s no longer “cool” but a tread that will mess up someone’s life. One thing we are forgetting, this event happens between either two or three people, and meant to be secretive. However, it leaks to the public, either due to a break up or betrayal.

A lot of these nudity photos have leaked to the public and people don’t learn. Some have been able to recover from it and I’m happy for them. Sadly others have not been able to recover and it messes their lives completely. Never read of an extreme incident caused by the nudity photos or videos and I’m praying I don’t read of any.

It’s best to learn from people mistakes. When you’re taking those nudity photos or videos be prepared of the outcome. Anything could happen; they could either leak to the public or remain secretive between the two or three of you. Keep this in mind; No one out there is your brother or sister apart from your family.
